Alpha Course
|
Looking for answers? The Alpha course
is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian
faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner over ten,
thought-provoking weekly sessions. |

|
It's low key, friendly and fun. And it's
supported by all the main Christian denominations.
You're not on your own either. More than 2
million people worldwide have found it a worthwhile
experience, completing the Alpha course in churches, homes,
schools, universities and prisons.
What is involved in an Alpha
course?
The Alpha course consists of a series of
talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith.
For supper there is a light meal together
at the beginning of each session which gives people a chance
to get to know each other. Talk After each talk we divide into
small groups to discuss the topic of the evening, ask
questions and express opinions.
Listen, learn, discuss and discover and ask
anything.
Alpha is a place where no question is too
simple or too hostile.

An
Alpha course will start on Thursday 29th January 2009 and more information can be obtained from
the office (Tel: 01383 620106).
In
the meantime a pool of volunteers is being organised who would
be interested in helping out in one of the following three ways:
·
Would
like to assist with the setting up of tables, serving food, and
then washing the dishes.
·
Would
like to help by making something for the Alpha tea. The menu at
each of the evenings will be soup, crusty bread, desert and tea
or coffee.
·
Would
be interested in becoming one of the helpers, taking part in the
course and helping to listen and share.
If
you are interested in one or more of these options please let us
know.
The
course will be run, normally, on a Thursday 6:30pm until 9pm.
However, there is one Saturday away day and this will entail a
full days outing between 9.00am and 5.00pm.
