“Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it's thinking of yourself less." -C. S. Lewis
Pray for our two ministers this week, Monika and Margaret. Give thanks for their ministry in St Leonard's. For their wise leadership and teaching. Grant them rest in their time off work over the next weeks.
Pray for our Kirk Session who meet this week, that we can always give glory to God and for wisdom and gentleness in our discussions and decisions.
Pray for our nation and every person who is struggling with the impact of the pandemic and its restrictions. Give comfort to those who are apart from loved ones at this time.
Pray for students in first weeks at university, that they will be able to adjust to the new situation and restrictions while still being able to enjoy the experience.
This week the Presbytery prayer diary suggests that we pray for generosity in supporting the work of the gospel, and challenges us to consider that "If you are in a time of abundance, is there a ministry that is being effective that could use your support in donated time, materials, or finances?" We therefore lift up our thanks in prayer, that as a church we are able to support local and national charities at this time.
Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. 2 Corinthians 8:11-12
